Daily Miles/Hours Pulling RV
Ok...how long/far do you drive per day pulling your RV on a road trip? Input appreciated!!! Thanks!!!

I have a 400 mile range before refueling - 6 hours of driving is probably 300 miles. I have driven 10+ hours in a day. It all depends on how much of a hurry I am in the get to my destination. Normally 6 hours is comfortable but I can do 10. So normally 6-8 hours and 300-400 miles. If I plan on 8 hours driving it will be closer to 9 after a couple of stops and 10 if I have traffic. If I make reservations I won't push it too much.

I have 81 gallons of fuel, and even grossing 28,500 that lasts longer than I want to tow in a day. Time spent behind the wheel depends on many factors, but if we have the choice it is 3-4 hours total. I don't like to do more than 6-7 if I can help it.
I do remember some trips in our younger days, where we would shoot for 16 hours in a day. Just not interested in that anymore. We like to enjoy the journey, not just the destination.

I plan on 350 - 400 miles daily. These stops rarely include unhooking the 5er before leaving the next day. If the destination is 600 miles, it will probably be made but any more than that requires a stop. I can go 650 miles without a fuel stop but generally look to stop every 2 1/2 hours anyway.
We are retired so in no rush. When daughters were young and only so many vacation days 10 - 16 hours was no problem, especially leaving shortly before their bedtime so they would sleep most of the trip.

Depending if we want a leisurely drive or to "put on some miles".
My ideal day is under 200 miles. My regular is 200-250 miles. If it's over 250 miles, we'll typically leave the night before, get 100 miles in, and then Wallydock to shorten the next day.
However, I've also driven 900 at a straight shot (started at 10pm and arrived the next day at 6:45pm) but we had 2 drivers and a chase car for the driver who swapped out to go sleep a bit.
Depends on what's on the other end- if it's Disney, the kids in the backseat will be chanting, "let's just keep driving!".

250-300 miles per day. A tank.
Did some 500 mile days. You know, the old get there Christmas Eve! Did’t like it.

4 hours average, 6 hours max. Retired 15 years now and any more driving than that is work.
I also use rest areas for what they were intended----resting.

Currently, we can do about 250 miles at the max per day. Last year we could do more with our 9 and 6 year old boys. Now, with the addition of our 6 month old, he can only sit so long before a diaper change and just plain needing to stretch. Our lunch breaks also now include mom having to feed the baby the old fashioned way.

Just completed a 6000 mile trip. 260 to 280 miles a day felt comfortable. We went farther a few days to get to destinations but liked the shorter drives better. We're in no hurry.

We shoot for 300. With fuel and restroom breaks, we average 50 MPG, so that is a 6 hour driving day...plenty for me. I have done more, and still can if the need arises, but fortunately, being retired, the need doesn't arise that often.

I prefer 300-400 miles per day with a refuel, drain the bladder stop in between.

If heading to brothers place, I'll make the run to Billings MT. in one day. 900 miles, 13 hrs. Makes the next day about a 6 hr run.

in all depends somewhat on 'what' your goal is, 'where' you are going, and 'why' your schedule wants you there at any given 'time frame'...but in general, when traveling long distances without much of a schedule timing 'demand', I try to keep the 250mile rule going, as it gives you plenty of distance, but doesn't tax you too much, let's you make side stops, if you want, and let's you arrive well before 'dark'. It also gives you a relaxing ride since the pressure is much less than if you are trying to meet some type of 'goal' in rushing to your next 'destination'.
We don't like to make any long term reservation for this same reason, and simply decide when and where as we are traveling. If just needing an overnight along the way, then a parking lot is perfectly fine, especially if you arrive there as the sun is setting and you're not sitting in the blazing heat too long before dark. You can also find easy rv parks, especially regional and city parks, along the way - use google maps in the area/region you are traveling to and type 'rv park' or 'campground' in the search bar to pinpoint different ideas...you'd be surprised how many options there really are.

Really surprised by all the 250 a day folks...I usually have 250 miles in before 9am.
When leaving from home I get in 600 to 800 miles on the first day...same thing for first day headed back to home.
I like driving.

Pulling a trailer takes more driving effort and adds fatigue, I don't have as much range as I do in a comfortable car.
Age, crappy eyesight and bladder comfort add to range anxiety. Pulling a RV is supposed to be fun, stop driving when the fun becomes work.
