Since there are no "8-ply" or "6-ply" tires I can't help without appropriate numbers.

Actual tire make/size is Castle Rock, size ST205/75-14 (photo attached). And just repeating what the RV service center indicated. Here's the quote from the email I received:

The only 8 ply tire in that size that I can get right now, is a Towmax STRII. I can get some Carlisle tires, but they are only 6 ply.

OR, in urban and suburban areas, like Chino, CA, the local America's Tire(Discount Tire outside California) had 215 70/14 in stock when the kids needed new tires Saturday. I got our last 225 70/15s there, in stock. Other sizes they tell us five days to get em ordered. Seems like with some planning .

Nothing wrong with going to the Carlisle. It’s a quality tire.

Your Wolf Pup is probably in the neighbourhood of 5,000# fully loaded (an actual scaled weight would be helpful) and it has a single axle. Ignore the “ply” rating and look at the load range of the tire to make sure yours can handle a lot more than they’re being asked to carry. Your picture shows you have Load Range D Castle Rock tires that are supposed to be good for 2540# each (5080# on the axle) if inflated to 65 psi. If you have plenty of safety factor with the OE Castle Rocks you may be fine. IMO, the Castle Rocks are more of a concern when you have a heavier trailer, live in the hot southern states and/or you tow on a lot of poor roads or dirt roads. That said, I admit I did swap mine out as insurance. The Goodyear Endurance tires I put on are a lot beefier than the same Load Range E Castle Rocks that came from the factory.

If your OE tires as shown on your RV Certification label is ST205/75R14 LR-D then you should NOT go to LR-C tires.


If you had "golf ball" size bumps or bubbles on the tire sidewalls those would be indication of impacts and broken body cord and not any condition built into the new tire.

Towmax is what FR used to put on a lot of campers before they "upgraded" to Castle Rock. I always have changed mine out to Maxxis.
