Day-night blinds

How can the blinds be made to slide easier on the two strings they travel on?
They are real hard to move up or down.

We've used ours for almost three years and they're still tough to move but are better than the first trip. We don't move them very often but they do get easier over time. You don't want them too loose or they'll constantly fall to the bottom.

if you
hold tightly on the strings
then loosen the screw that holds the lower part of the strings to the wall
then let out a little slack
do it even on both sides
the tighter they are the stiffer they are
the slacker the strings the LOOSER they go

its a balancing act , you adjust them to suit your needs
