De winterizing

What is the best way to drain all the antifreze out of the system. Have filter out and water heater plug out dealer did the winterizing it is new trailer dont want to pay to take it in it is a 2012 Flagstaff.

open the low point drains and open a faucet to allow air to escape as well. When I did mine, I drained most out, then hooked up to city water and ran through,opening each faucet, toilet, outside shower, etc, until no more pink or foam showed. Then just had to dump grey tank on first trip out.

Hi!
Just went through this for the first time myself... as jtstromsburg noted, open low point drain(s) and then close them and flush until no more pink, assuming your dealer used non-toxic (they say!) pink RV anti-freeze.

I also then disconnected from city water and filled my potable water tank with a 1/3 cup bleach per gallon of water solution to 3/4 full and pumped it through all the lines and let it stand overnight to sterilize everything. Then drained again and flushed well until no bleach odor. I have a filter, but put in in place last thing after the flush.

The bleach sterilizing is per PrimeTime's owner's manual. (I also live on a farm, so flushing is easier)

are you sure you used 1/3 cup per gallon ? For some reason that sounds high.
more like 1/3 cup per 15 gallons I was thinking .

Thank you thank you! the recipe is for 3 ounces for 15 gallons!!!!!! Sorry!!!! it worked out for my tank to use 1/3 cup TOTAL for the water I put into the tank!

I deserve a kick in the butt! Thank you so much for the catch!!!

I always had a pop up but what are low point drains? I am really new to a 5th wheel.

low point drains are just as the sound ...... there the lowest point in the water system .
for the most part if you open those all water in all the lines should drain .


your dealer surely showed you these during pdi ?

it always help us help you, if you posted the model trailer you have.
that way those that have the same trailer, know exactly where things are and can help more.

Sorry it is a 8528 TBWS I have only been able to use it once before winter came.

You should be able to locate the low point drains fairly easily. Look for 2 hoses sticking out from the bottom of your trailer. They should be abour 3/4 inch diameter. Often one is red and the other white. They will be next to each other. Once you find the hoses, look in the trailer at their matching location. There should be their mates coming up through the floor with a shutoff valve on each.
