Dealer's Mistake Low Clearance.

At the outdoor RV show in St. Louis, dealer try to bring this one in. Almost knocked over the entrance. Busted the marker lights, don't know if the A.C. was damaged. I love RV shows.

Poor pretty little Jayco...it didn't deserve that. Goes back to the people we deal with in the RV world...really don't know because they don't own one.

To be neutral... maybe they came in the wrong entrance...

Kind of reminds me of Spinal Tap when the band ordered the model of Stonehenge - 18" instead of 18'.

How did the other RVs fit and he didn't?

That is a temporary entrance. The others came in before it was put up. That unit was a late arrival just after the show opened to the public.

Dealer's Mistake Low Clearance

Looks like maybe the sound of the marker lights breaking made him stop before he got to the air conditioner.

Pretty ironic that the sign he hit is the RV Show sign!

You'd think whoever built that sign would have built it high enough to clear any RV.

I see that the vertical frame is on wheels with sand bags holding it in place....Easy to get out of that situation with little damage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to wonder what knucklehead decided to erect such a low clearance sign at ANY event where LARGE vehicles would be brought in.

Lots of different directions to point fingers but if you ask me there's only one right answer...the person in the drivers seat. Probably just a low grade employee that doesn't drive the RV's regularly...and they're likely looking for a new job now, unfortunately.

Another sad thought might be....patch and buff RV and pass it off with possible damage or patch to damage.

Actually the A/C hitting it made a rather loud noise. He had backed up by the time I got my smartphone camera out. I'd bet there was some roof damage too.

The low clearance entrance isn't put in place until the morning of the show. By that time all the RV's are supposed to be in place. Not in the picture is the manned cop car just passed the entrance to keep vehicles from coming in. That didn't work out too well either.

Cop having a donut and watching the ladies. Typical of manufacturers employees diligence and care on the drivers part. No surprises there.

So the RV Show is at the St. Louis Premium Outlets Mall in Chesterfield, MO and is put on by the Midwest Gateway Dealers Association. Camping World opened one of their stores in the St. Louis area last year but they didn't join the dealers association so they couldn’t participate in the show.

But wait, Camping World wasn’t about to be shut out. There is a Gander Mountain in the mall that Camping World closed after they bought out Gander Mountain this year. That left a very large parking area by the Gander Mountain store vacant. Camping World brought in a very large number of RVs and parked them in front of the Gander Mountain store and put on their own RV show. That meant there were two RV shows going on at opposite ends of the mall. It was very confusing.
