Did I do any damage ?

Yesterday we brought our FR SV233T home to get it ready for our up coming trip. I have to back it into the driveway and while doing that I scraped the skid bar. I have scraped the bar before but not like this. It was too late to stop as the damage was done. Not only did I gouge the concete but I bent / twisted the skid bar so now it is about 30 degrees out from straight. The bar is 'V' shaped and welded to the I-beam frame. The lower portion of the I-beam is slightly distorted but I can't tell if I did any damage above that as the bottom of the trailer is enclosed. Do you think I have a concern ? Should I have it looked at ?

can you post some pics?

I doubt you did anything major but some pics would help. At the very least it sounds like you need a new "skid bar"

I will try to get a pic today or tomorrow....the trailer is back at the storage lot. Thank you for your reply.

Sorry for the wacky pics as I am new to posting pics.

The damage looks to be cosmetic...nothing that a little heat and a big hammer couldn't correct. I don't think I'd bother to fix it until it's for sale.

I agree with Dave_Monica

If it were mine I would let it go until time to sell also. It looks cosmetic to me also.

If it bother's you just heat and a BFH will fix it.

No serious damage there. I wouldn't even apply heat, just hammer it back into place if it bothers you otherwise, just leave it.

I agree with everybody else. NO REAL DAMAGE that a BFH can't fix. I wouldn't heat though because you'd have to take the underbelly off and also risk real damage if your aren't extra special careful.

You're good to go.

Thank you for all the replies. I won't worry about skid bar, but I will be more careful backing into the drive.
