Dilemma--Need solid advice from our FR Community

So a few weeks ago my wife and I returned from a nice weekend camping trip.
As I was watering the flowers in the back yard, my wife was on the patio and gasped.
Turns out we had a stray cat living under our porch and she had 7 kittens. Now they were slowly pouring out from under the porch and they could not be more than 2-3 weeks old.
Fast forward to now they are about 4-5 weeks old and she is attached to the runt, a little black kitten she has named "Scout".
I am allergic to cats and she knows this, but is trying desperately to get me to accept this new little guy into our home. We already have a small Shitzu and I don't really want any more pets.
BUT--she asked, What can I do for you or give you that will change your mind.
Well, as you can imagine my mind raced to all kinds of things but I came back with
" I want a DIESEL truck! "
She said OK so it looks like I'm getting a cat and a new Duramax!

What would you have done or asked for?
Did I cave to early?
Did I make the right decision?

LOL... not sure how serious one should take this post.

1. You are allergic to cats.
2. Your wife knows this.
3. I assume your wife isn't solely paying for the diesel truck.
4. Regardless of 1-2-3, you caved anyway.
5. She gets her way.

DID you make the right decision?...

After you get the truck, take the kitty for a ride in it to “the ranch where it can live a happy life”.

There is a thought, I had not thought of the "ranch ride".

When I was a child, many a pet took a ride to “the ranch”.

A man took a cat on a ranch ride once. 20 miles away in a nice neighborhood with a bag of food and some toys, collar {name removed, no chip}. Thought that would do it. The cat beat him home.
Next day he did the same but 40 miles this time. Nice family park with kids and moms everywhere. Thought what could go wrong? Cat beat him home.
Really POd now. That weekend 100 miles away.
Wife was getting worried as he had been gone a loooong time. The phone rand and the husband asked if the cat was home yet. Wife said why? Man said he needed directions home.

My advice is the next time your wife goes out for any length of time the cat simply
"runs away".

Don't listen to these guys

Let your wife keep the cat. Jeeeeez man she let you get a new truck... and a DURAMAX, no less! (My wife actually TOLD me to buy my Duramax when we found it) We have two cats, I'm allergic, but I take Xyzal. Little compromises like this are what keep a marriage going strong. My wife is a saint too, just like yours.

We live out in the country and city people are always bringing their unwanted animals of all kinds out here and dumping them. We and our neighbors try to rescue, feed, and rehome as many of these poor critters as possible. I can’t describe the condition some of these poor critters are in after a week of being abandoned with no food, shelter, or water. Domestic animals do not readily adapt to living in the wild. PLEASE PEOPLE DO NOT DUMP YOUR ANIMALS I BEG YOU! There are rescue groups all over that will take owner surrenders and regime them. Just call any vet for a list of local referrals.

Well as long as scout remains outside and hunts for mice trying to enter the trailer you win.

If scout comes inside the house I question the sainthood of said wife as I would think she is trying to do you harm.

I fought against having a dog for 5 years as I am alergic to them (asthma). I LOST and we have a dog that I love....however the dog is not permitted up stairs. She is trained and the one time she was taken upstairs by my wife she ran back down scared. She is more obedient than the wife so if ever left with a difficult choice I will keep the dog.[emoji6]

I didn't get a truck out of the deal so you did way better than I did.

SCOUT

I love these replies, I knew I came to the right place for advise!
I especially loved the idea to name the Truck SCOUT and get personalized plates.
And no I cant loan him out she wont let him out of her sight.

But most of all my wife is a Saint and the least I can do is let her keep her Scout.
Thanks for all the fun replies!

True or not it's a fun story. Here would be my dilemma if it were me: we have a new 5er we both love. I got my new diesel dually to pull it. We got a new boat last year we both love. So,,,, I'd ask for my very own airplane! 😜
