Again, sorry grumpy.

As for your other questions... king bed & recliners. We have a king bed at home but a queen in the 5th wheel. There is a difference and doing it again, I'd get a king in the trailer. We love the recliners though.

It is hard seeing this. I know I'm not alone as you can see in the pictures. Talked to the campground owner yesterday and he said he doesn't have flood insurance. Don't know how he will recover.

Then maybe not if the DW stands for "Divorced Wife".

I'm going to hazard a guess that HIS losses are a lot less than those who had RV's parked there. A lot of silt will need to be hosed down and electrical systems dried out with breakers and such replaced. Water system flushed and well "sanitized". Septic system pumped. No doubt he will qualify for low interest disaster relief loans.

If the campground was a nice one customers will be back and his revenues will return. Around here the flooding usually takes away the land as well as buildings on it.

Grumpy,
After reading all your posts, you are doing a poor job of living up the expectations of your handle!

Hoping you get a good check from your insurance company....

I have to say, I'm really happy with the Lay-Z-Boy recliners we put in our trailer.

Grumpy old man, so sorry for your loss. My parents had a seasonal lot on the Manistee River at Mesick, MI for years. The park rules stated that all trailers, sheds etc had to be out of the park the end of Oct. and all docks had to be out of the water and far enough away from the water that if, of when, it flooded stuff wouldn't wash into the river. The park reopened the first of May. It was a hassle each fall but was such a beautiful place and the loved it.

That sounds like pretty good rules. Maybe this campground will implement the same rules. I am in search of a new campground now.

Where in Northern Illinois are you located?

We just moved into a new CG last year and have no worries about flooding. Lots of seasonal sites still available.

I'm looking for extended weekend sites within a couple hr drive of Rockford. Would you mind sharing what CG you went to?
