I can't be of too much help. Because I've just started to research this myself. We have directv at home. So if I want to bring the HD receiver it will limit the choices we have. If I'm not worried about HD. Then there are a lot of options. I do have a standard def satellite dish that we take. But it becomes a pain to set up. That's why I'm looking for an automatic one that mounts on the roof of the 5'er. Good luck.

I use the Tailgater and it does well. I got it because of the HD TV and if you want HD on DirecTV it will cost a lot more. I got the Tailgater, receiver and fifty feet of cable for $199 from a Dish dealer in Jacksonville, FL two years ago. Good Luck

I just changed from Direct at home to Dish so I could get HD on the road
Bonus you get all the new customer benefits and lowered my monthly cost at
home from $98 month to $69 a month.
