DishTv

Has anyone tried/used the pay as you go Dish TV? King tailgater Pro? Worth it or not?

We have Dish at home, so I just added another receiver to the account.
We camp 6 - 7 months during the winter.
I use a Pathfinder X2 for my "dish" and found it is better than a "tailgater".
I might be able to save a few bucks with "pay as you go", but have not tried it so far.
We get the same programming on the road as we do at home, minus the "locals" unless your change you ZIP.

It works and for occasional use or if you are new to Dish you will probably like it. If you are used to Hopper 3 at home you might be disappointed in how the Wally functions.

We are fulltimers so I upgraded the tailgator / Wally to a wingard traveler / hopper 3 combo. Now we can get multiple DVD recordings plus all prime time recorded. Also allows multiple TV to see programs on different satellites.

We have Dish at home and we found that using the Dish Anywhere app was much easier. No extra equipment to haul around and we connect to our home Hopper 3. We can use it just like we do at home, including accessing recorded shows. And there's no extra cost.

We just purchased a portable satellite and the Wally. The setup took a while with dish on the phone but once set up it worked great. We moved from state to state and all we had to do was change the state on the wally , which is very easy, and it continued to function great. I highly recommend this setup.

I will say Dish is much better the DirecTV for RVers. My opinion only.

I have Dish and the tailgater pro. I only pay for the months I really need it. It works great as long as there are no obstructions.

If you are camping where there are no trees the Dish system works fine, but even the slightest tree will cause interference and loss of signal. There was a roof mounted dish satellite on my TT when purchased, and the only place we could get it to work was in my driveway. Only pay fir service if your sure it works.
