All of our drinking water comes from campgrounds but goes through our Berkey Water Filter with a pair of charcoal filters.
We fill 2 gallon jugs and make/keep them cold in the 2 fridges. We also keep 8-10 reusable water bottles filled and chilled from it.
We haven’t bought water in over a year and a half until this 2 weeks of dry camping. We are preserving our water tank water and buying instead.

I live in the USA and one of the things not stated in the Constitution that can be taken for granted is that public water is safe. You probably should run a bit of water out of the spigot before connecting, rinse your connection, rinse your hose, rinse the inlet but this has to do with contamination not source.
This has nothing to do with palatability, some areas have minerals that are very different from your pallet but this does not make the water unsafe, but it really screws up the morning coffee.

We sometimes do drink the cg water and sometimes we don't. It all depends on how the wife feels when we are packing for the trip. When camped in a tent we had so much other stuff to bring that there wasn't any room to bring water too so we had to drink the cg water. I don't recall anyone ever getting sick because of it. We don't use a filter either.

The people in Flint, MI might disagree.

That's also what we have used for many, many years.
Why take up space and waste money on bottled water?
In most areas community water sources such as these are tested from time to time.

I've had trailers since 84 and never had a filter on any of them.

I do too - plus the filter in the refrigerator door. DW drinks bottled water from Wally World, but she does that at home with our wonderful-tasting 450' deep water well. More of a convenience than anything else.
We occasionally make Lemonade from the tap and she does drink that.

I’ve personally had problems from drinking water from other places (maybe my body is more sensitive than the average person) so we use bottled water for drinking. We use filtered campground water for the dishes, brushing teeth, showers, etc. The filter is a 0.5 micron filter in the factory-installed filter housing.

We bring distilled water to make coffee and a case of bottled water to drink.
We use campground water (unfiltered - no reason, just my laziness) for washing dishes, brushing teeth etc.
I fill the dog's water bowl with campground water.

I use campground water fed through a cannister-type charcoal filter, which I also use when filling the fresh water tank at home.

FWIW Wally World has 3-M Filtrete Carbon Wrapped cartridges a 2 pack
for $8.84 Online order only with free ship to store option. I ordered several items and it came --the next day-- with free shipping.

I just stocked up. The best price I could find with similar brands at Lowes and Home Debit were ~ $4 higher.
Happy Trails!

We never drink campground water, only bottle water from Walmart. The ice from the ice maker goes into the cooler to keep drinks cold when we are riding.

Those of you that use this type of filter...If you are using it on an exterior system, what do you do with the filter when you are parked at home for a couple weeks between uses? Put it in the fridge? I use the smaller Camco blue filter, and it's small enough to just throw in the fridge when not in use for a bit. Have thought of going to a better exterior system, but wonder how easy it is to store that filter in between uses.

That must make it hard to buy jackets and shirts. You remind me of the story of the grandma who knitted her grandson three socks because she heard he'd grown a foot since she'd last seen him.
That aside, we use campground water and have a whole-house filter in the Berkshire. We used to use either a blue inline filter or a pair of inline filters (particulate and contaminants) I built using housings and fittings from Lowes.

Y'all don't drink tap water, but do drink tap water if it's in a petroleum-based bottle that costs more per gallon than gasoline. You won't touch the outside of your sewer hose without rubber gloves. I'm surprised some of you camp where there is dirt around the outside of the campsite! LOL

Do you drink campground water?
We do but it goes through one of the blue camco filters coming in, then for drinking/coffee etc we use a zero water filter / pitcher. Takes everything out from TDS perspective.
That said it probably wouldn’t matter to me either way. I grew up when you could play with liquid mercury and make pennies look like dimes etc. immune system was exposed to a whole lot that is probably only in those superfund sites now [emoji2]

No, I have been to campgrounds where the waters is green or brown, growing up as a kid I would drink from hose's and creeek's as well but never if the water was a different color than clear. I do use the camco filter and the water conditioner from wal-mart, it will at least get rid of the green color in the water.

After filtration, the stuff at campgrounds tastes better than what comes out of my tap at home.

I wouldn't drink that stuff either! Luckily we've never seen green or brown
water coming out of a CG spigot!! KY, IN, TN, ..... heck we've been to Maine, California, Utah, and a whole bunch in between and never seen discolored water at the spigot. ( I REALLY need to update my states visited map!)
