Do you have a favorite campground guide?

I am looking for a paperback campground directory, does anyone have a favorite they use?
I realize most campground directories have gone digital but I like holding a book in my hands and turning pages.
If books have become obsolete, what digital campground directory do you use?

My Magellan GPS does pretty good for us and Google search.

I have no idea if books are obsolete, but my 2 "go to"s for finding campgrounds is campgroundreviews.com and Campendium.com.

For years I'd use a Woodall's and would use the same issue until the pages were frayed.

I figured that the good campgrounds in the book would still be there and the bad ones would have closed.

Being a boondocker, primarily, I use the app Free Campsites a lot. They even show wide spots on Forest Service Roads or vacant lots next to gas stations along with all the NF, BLM, COE, etc, campsites all over the country.

App, like a smartphone app? Or website: FreeCampsites.net?

Besides Woodall's, Good Sam guide book
There is also Passport, they will mail to you if a member
There is also KOA you can pick up at most KOA campgrounds or request it mailed to you if you are a member.

Most RV dealerships have books on campgrounds by states
For instance, I live in Massachusetts, we have camp mass. https://www.campmass.com/
you can download or request a copy mailed to you.

I am sure other states have similar.

Good Luck! Safe Travels!

Most definitely, the only guide we use is an app called Ultimate Campgrounds. We only camp in public campgrounds and that is all this shows (USFS, NP, COE, BLM, City and State parks and Rec areas. It is 3.99, the only app I have ever paid for and well worth it.

I did not even think of searching by city, state, or even campground, until you mentioned it lablover.

If you can do without a book or paper copy, try the campground reviews at
Campground Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks

It will not only list campgrounds but give you the good & bad of them to a point. You be the judge if it sounds legitimate or not.

Guide

We have used RV Wizard, it ties in to Campsite Review and is a great tool for planning trip. It is about $30 a year, but has a lot of added features. You can set the style or any discount memberships you have or preferences for Nation, State, Land management area, etc. Cool website w/ free demo.

Good Sam's Campground and RV Guide is the best we have used for more then 40 years. Their rating system has always led us to the best RV Parks in the area of interest.

It's available at all Camping World Stores for about $9.95.00, but be careful - - - - it is heavy!!

X2 for the Good Sam's Campground and RV Guide. We try to get a new one at least every couple years.
Also X2 on the heavy-- it will take away from your payload! But well worth it, IMHO.
