Celebrate the anniversary of our nation's freedom from oppression, we call it INDEPENDENCE DAY! I have grown weary of people saying have a happy 4th. What does that mean? In December do we say have a merry 25th? We, as a nation we are increasingly losing the emphasis of certain traditions we all grew up with. Remember the sacrifice our forefathers paid by putting their life on the dotted line by signing their name to a declaration proclaiming ONE nation's freedom. Also, the millions of men and women who have put or are currently putting their lives in harms way to keep us free.
A friend at Boeing asked me (a Brit) whether we had July 4th in the UK. I said "Of course". He was very surprised until I said "It comes between the 3rd and the 5th, but we don't celebrate it".

I think it's been referred to as the Fourth of July (as well as Independence Day) as long as I can remember. And that's long before the PC movement arrived.
