Dont Create Another Fort McMurray!

Though we don't yet know what started the horrendous fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta, we must consider that fires like this can be started from careless campfire extinguishing and disposal of cigarettes, etc.

PLEASE, make extra sure your fires and smokes are out, before you go to sleep, or pack up and leave your sites. Maybe check your neighbors sites too, just in case. Let's make sure our FROG community is not responsible for future events such as this.

Keep the 90,000 people of Ft Mac in your prayers, and consider donating to the Canadian Red Cross to help them rebuild their community.

The emotional scars it places on people for life. I have friends that live there, lost everything and do not want to go back.

A donation to the Canadian Red Cross is matched by both the Federal and Provincial Governments.

This tragedy far surpasses any storm event in Canada with its magnitude.

I have many friends who have lost everything and some who were spared losing things. But the emotional scars have hit all of them.
I don't think that the rest of Canada truly understand how this is going to affect all Canadians financially whether you are pro oil or not.
PLEASE give to the Red Cross if you can.

Made our donation to the Cdn Red Cross last night. Sure hope they get rain soon. We are hearing several stories about people in Alberta with campgrounds and RVs donating them to displaced families. The videos on YouTube of people evacuating from Fort McMurray are truly frightening.

Fort Mac

Our prayers go out to everyone affected by this Horrendous wildfire. I hope an event like this doesn't happen here in Manitoba (or anywhere else for that matter). The temperature here in Winnipeg hit 35'C (95'F) on Thursday.

Thanks for posting the link to the Red Cross. A city of 90k people going up in smoke, causing all of those traumatized people is heartbreaking. Wish I could afford to give more...

Also good advice about campfire safety; can't say how many unattended fires my husband and I have extinguished over the years, but it's been a lot. We're all in this together and need to help out our community and Mom Nature whenever possible.

Godspeed to the Fort M fire refugees.
