Here's a sign at the dump station at a state park.

I've never used a dump station but this thread made me think about things.
Even if the previous dumper squirts off the area, you're still standing in poo.
Shoe covers seem like overkill, I can't see myself using them. But I wouldn't want that stuff I was standing in, in my truck.
Maybe a quick spray of the soles with some Lysol or something.

Never used a dump station?
You would be surprised what is already on the soles of your shoes without ever going near a dump station.

I think this is one of the best parts you can carry in your RV. If you ever have a dump handle break for freeze in the open position this can be a real plus. It easily attaches to the end of your sewer pipe.

GMC Motorhome
Several trailers and motorhomes ago we used a GMC. It had a stainless steel exhaust system. Once your were driving down the road and a light on the dashboard indicated the exhaust system was hot enough, you were able to inject your holding tank contents into the exhaust system and hopefully nothing "bad" ended up on the vehicles following you. I really loved that system until inadvertent damage to the exhaust system required replacement with stainless steel parts.

Sounds like an incinerating toilet, only using the hot exhaust instead of electricity.

It looked and operated just like a "normal" RV toilet, meaning everything went down the drain into a holding tank. When camping for several days, the holding tank was emptied in the normal manner. It had a macerator pump which liquefied "stuff" before sending it to the injector. One problem with the system was the coast to maintain. Imagine the replacement cost of components such as stainless steel headers, exhaust piping and mufflers. The system was called Thermasan. I have included a link to the system drawings
http://www.henry-davis.com/GMC/thermasan.htm
It was a slow process burning off an entire waste tank but I truly enjoyed the feeling I was burning the waste tank contents and vehicles behind me beware. If your speed dropped to low or the temperature dropped below the threshold, the system would stop until your speed and temperature were again within limits.

I've always had full hookup. If I boondock, I'm tenting it.
