Electric Cable

Should new travel trailers come with an electric cable to hook up shore power in a campgroung or is this an after market add on?

Thanks for any help.

The RV to campground pedestal cord comes with the unit as standard equipment in every case I've seen.

Yes it should have one. Most (older ones) have them permanently connected to the RV.

Yes, you should have a power cable as standard equipment. Some RV's have an attached power cable, that may be extended from a compartment to the pedestal.... while others may have a detached type, that you will connect to the RV and also to the power pedestal.

Something similar to these:

Detached type:

attached/built in type:

Looking at a video of your model trailer (it's a 2016 year model, but it's probably real close to your 2017 year model)

At the 7:00 mark it shows the detachable type power cord you should have with your unit.

shore power

Thanks to everyone for all their help.. We haven't gotten to use our trailer.. I know where the cable hooks up but can't remember seeing one on the walkthrough.. They had it hooked up when we got there.. I guess I will find out Monday when we try to hook up.

Check your msrp sticker, it should show if it's an add on or standard supply cord. I've have seen units were the cord is not a standard feature. If it's standard feature and missing, the delivery person forgot to put it back after your walk through.

When we picked up our last unit, the shore power cord that was hooked to our rig was the dealership's.
Ours was sleeping quietly in its bag in the storage compartment.
