Electric Moped or Cycle

Anyone using an electric moped or cycle to get around the campground? I have two bad knees and now a broke ankle that my doctor said will take upwards of 6 months to heal. Would like to be able to get around the campground with a portable electric powered something or other. Not having any fun just sitting around or driving the truck. Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

With your ankle injury you will probably need a mobility scooter. "Standard" scooters and motorcycles require putting weight in your foot every time you stop. How about a golf cart? They can be rented or bought used and resold when you have healed.

Your health insurance may pay for a rental.

We picked up one of these last fall off of ebay for $550, free shipping. Makes it fun to get around, make a quick run to a store nearby. Nice seat, has headlight/tail light/keys. We did notice some of the chinese steel parts starting to develop some surface rust. But all in all, I'm satisfied. I'm 250lb and it moves me 15+mph. I haven't done a range test yet, but am sure it'll go several miles before needing a charge.

We purchased two 3 wheels electric scooters. They weigh about 70lbs, 350 watts, with a range of 15 miles per charge. Have a cargo mount on the back of our motor homes to transport them. We enjoy them and get a lot of use from them especially at large campgrounds like Disney.
Camping World carries very similar to what we have but is approx $200 more.

The wife ordered a Razor Ecosmart Electric Scooter for me. $369. Good reviews online. Should be in this week, once my ankle heals I'll give it a try. Will be back at the lake to 5 weeks so I'll really see how it performs there.

Check with the campgrounds you frequent. Many state campgrounds consider the roads (camping loops) as public roads that fall under standard motor vehicle laws.

Yup, very similar to ours and paid about the same. Enjoy!
