Extended Warranty

Picking up our new Grey Wolf 29TE next weekend. Thinking about purchasing an extended warranty. Looking for opinions on warranties, companies you recommend and any other info that might be useful. Thanks in advance!

Who's offering the warranty, the dealer? Where can you get service?

You understand that most everything in a travel trailer is NOT covered by the "manufacturer's" warranty? That's in quotes 'cuz they're really assemblers, not makers. Everything from the frame, axles, tires to the appliances are covered under their specific manufacturer's warranty, not the assembler's. Extended "warranties" are typically really just high priced, limited benefit insurance policies. Once the limit is reached benefits cease.

I'm sure there are folks who've benefited from these I don't know any of them though.

Chuck_S doesn’t know me but I paid $1800 to my dealership for a 5-year extended service contract that paid out $4200 on two major claims - one included a new axle and air conditioner plus other stuff. The other included removing my 5th wheel’s front cap and broken structural steel and replacing all of that. This last claim was submitted 10 days before the contract expired and was paid after contract expiration. My selling dealership was not chosen for either of these major claims.

There are many threads on this topic here. Each contain many “from a distance” recommendations AGAINST such contacts and a few practical experiences FOR one. NMWildcat and I are 2 members who have had positive experiences.
