To answer the OPs question, a WFCO ( brand) Converter is the electronic device that converts the 110VAC from shore power into 12VDC to charge the battery and help run the 12V appliances in the RV, It is usually in the same compartment as your fuse /breaker/distribution panel. FR uses WFCO converters in a many of their products as they are cost effective. If you ever have to replace it, many people use Progressive products as they are higher quality and have some nice additional features.

Getting back to the original posters question, I strongly suggest you get a 30 amp extension cord. Walmart sells them, good prices on Amazon, and every camping store has them. You are almost certain to need it from time to time when camping. The electrical pedestals are often in the wrong place for your needs.

x2.. I've got one that I think I've used a small handful of times and been glad I've had it everytime! Lots of times it's just to move the generator that little bit further away, when dry camping and we need some extra power...
