Factory awning lights

In looking at some options on 2013 Forest River campers I noticed that many of them are coming with "awning lights." I can't recall seeing this being offered on earlier models, and I wondered if anyone here has factory awning lights.

It is the awning company. If the camper has carefree electric awning then it should have the led lights in it.

We were at the RV dealership last weekend and really liked the LED lights built into the awning roller. I told the salesman about how I did a similar thing off of amazon. It did look snazzy.

I just got a new work and play with the power awning and it has the led lights. I must say it is a very nice and classy upgrade, it provides a nice glow that is bright enough to see the door nicely, but not overly bright.

Saw a unit with the awning lights at a local dealers open house last weekend. Looked nice!

Were they mounted in side the empty track in the awning roller?

They were on my 2013 365RL and they are mounted under the awning on the trailer. They look very nice and the switch is located where all the switches are mounted.

That's where they were on the one we saw. But you couldn't use an awning sunscreen if you ever wanted to slide one in the roller.

The new Columbus line from Palomino is coming with a LED light light strip between the awning but mounted on the camper not on the awning. Standard on all units since like January.

The ones I saw recently were recessed into the roller tube and did not use the accessory slot. This wasn't a FR camper though.

Thanks for all the great responses. I now have a much better idea of what I'm seeing on the options lists.
