My premium on my Cedar Creek 5th wheel is over $1,000/year. What kind of insurance do you have?

Hard to believe a trailer insurance policy is over a thousand a year, wow. Do you live in it full time? My sticks and bricks policy is not even that much.

Not full time.

My two biggest coverages are:

Coverages Limits Rate
Other Than Collision: $250 deductible $433.00
Collision: $250 deductible $474.00

PDI went well. Discover loose connection to toilet when turned pump on. Fixed on the spot.

Congrats on the new GD trailer. We switched last year and really love our floor plan. Enjoy the new trailer.

Which one did you end up going with if you don't mind me asking and how is it holding up after a year? Thx.

Sorry misspoke. We switched this year in June. We got the Reflection 2019 297 RSTS. We love the double opposing slides. We have only been out three times since purchase. We mostly use ours for winter travel South. We found many small issues and two bigger issues. Our toilet was leaking between bowl and pedestal. This was not a GD factory problem the toilet was not assembled properly. The other problem was our television quit working after first outing. GD does not want to take care of this problem. I found out today that the TV was manufactured in May 2018 so the warranty had expired on the TV by the time I took delivery. TCL the manufacturer won't do anything because the TV is more than a year old still going back and forth with GD. I did get authorization to get toilet fixed by a mobile tech while on our last 12 day trip and waiting to get reimbursed. We still love the trailer though.

Now thats interesting as we are picking up our new XLS 22 MLE this Saturday. We traded in out Rockwood Ultra Lite Model 2305DS. The Grand design is only about 2 ft longer and about 390 lbs heaver and has more room. Its skimpy on outside storage....but we think it will be manageable. It will also be towable with my 2018 GMC 4x4 Dneali with the 6.2L engine....

Like you, I will stay with this forum as well as it always has a wealth of info

We had a couple of Cardinals and switched to Grand Design. Go here for the forum:

I still monitor both pages.

See you there.

We made the switch in 2017 and we just love our Grand Design Imagine. However, I still find this forum to be invaluable. Congrats and enjoy your new RV!

Chief T,

I'm with you on hanging on to this group after jumping ship, thru the years I have gotten some very good information.
The first camper I bought was a FR product in 2002. 2 years ago I went for the fifth wheel upgrade to have nothing bought my worst experience a person could ever have ( Crusader lite 30bhhs) worst product ever produced, pretty bad when 1 manager says it needed to be replaced and another said no. The factory rep even got involved with absolutely no help. So I bought a Heartland Bighorn 39MB 5ver, much better quality and excellent service from the dealer.

Roger, you will fall in love with the 22 MLE floor plan. I have a feeling it is longer than the advertised 26'1, but I will measure tomorrow. The dry tongue weight in the brochure is 490 lbs, but my weight sheet shows 696. The front storage is OK for us. We have a bit more room than with our Prime Time. My GMC has the 6.2l as well and I could definitely feel the difference in weight. My initial tow had weight in the front bay and containers in the back. Once I got all the "stuff' put in place, it towed well. If you got any Q's, let me know

Yes, it's hard to believe. Insurance here is pricey because of vehicle thefts. I believe we're #2 in vehicle thefts in the county. Our last truck was stolen from our driveway on New Years Eve. It was recovered a few days later. I sold that truck to a guy at work, and it was stolen from their driveway as well.

Yes, I couldn't believe their rate either. But it is what it is. And I'll take it.

All the best to you, and safe and happy travels.

To be honest, the GD forum sucks compared FR. I do monitor both, but FRF is so much more robust.

Yes, FRF is so much more informational despite brand. Maybe the GD forum can catch up in 5 years or so, but FRF is still a go too!!!
