Finally got the Surveyor 19BHLE home!

Here's hoping I won't be like one of those boat guys "the two best days of my life were when I got my boat and when I sold my boat."

Quick background: went camping first time in a rented RV last July, started looking for a TT right after and joined this forum. Bought a TV and originally was looking at a Wolf Pup but eventually settled on Surveyor Legend 19BHLE. When we were ready though the market was red hot and I was told 6 months or more. Last week I got a call from a nearby dealer (nearby = less than 5 hours drive) that a deal fell through one and if I wanted it, and I took them up on it.

Went to Camping World yesterday, did the paperwork, walkthrough, and took her home. First time ever towing anything so I was pretty nervous, but the trip home was fine, though the Bluetooth brake controller needed some tweaking in settings.

What really surprised me was trying to back up into my driveway, the TT did not behave at all like I expected, everything seemed reversed and after a while I finally figured it out but really embarrassed myself in front of my neighbors.

Issues I found after taking her home:
- cabinetry weren't deburred in some areas, I had to take a knife to cut away excess materials so it won't slice finger open.
- cabinet hardware installed improperly.
- missing grout around sink, water would seep into the open crevices.
- excess glue, grout, scratches were present in many areas.
- Furrion electronics...ugh
- various minor cosmetic issues, loose or stripped screws that I could overlook and fix myself.

I wasn't looking at buying a Lexus but boy the "craftsmanship" was really not what I expected. I used to live in Indiana and remember hearing about the Hoosier pride that went into building the RVs, and how it was impacted by the Great Recession. I guess some of those skilled labor just never went back. If I looked closely I can tell everything seemed hurried.

That said, this will be our vacation home for the next few years and we'll make it a nice little place. Really appreciate all the contributions by fellow members posting questions and getting answers, there's a wealth of knowledge here that I'm sure I'll need to leverage.

Finally, the reduced gas mileage was expected but I was still disappointed that it went from almost 20mpg down to 11mpg.

I am finding that you need to be a handyman to make the rig "right" I didn't buy new but there are obvious issues with quality control.
