24 years with the Sheriff's Department, last 6 years as a Sergeant. I have 2 more years to go (not soon enough). Bought my first travel trailer to get a glimpse into the retired lifestyle ;-)

I am 34 years in Public Safety at a local University and still going strong, 10 years at a volunteer ambulance as an EMT and then a Paramedic before we took time off to raise our family (that's how met). DH did 4 years as a volunteer Fire Fighter before going into the Army and 3 years after he came home from Germany. I am still part time as a Court Officer (Peace Officer). I have noticed a lot of Public Servants as we have camped over the years and even the people who aren't in Public Service seem to respect us more than the general population.

30 years in LE. Some as a deputy, most as a municipal police officer. I'll have to retire in about another year and a half, but still love it. I'm a captain now, I've tried to make the most of every rank I have held. We recently had an officer murdered. Our community is surrounding us with support, you won't see that on the six o'clock news, tho.........

Retired April 29 after 25 yrs as a Corrections Officer at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Dept. New York. Now looking to catch up on all the work I've neglected at home because of excessive overtime (approx. 700 hr every yr). Also looking forward to spending time with my wife going camping and some travel. Getting to know each other all over again. Hoping to get to work in my shop and build some furniture and do some things I really like.

Retired 2 years ago after 20 years in Federal correctional facilities. Spent the last 11 in a maximum security federal penitentiary as the lead criminal investigator. I miss working with Leo's and prosecutors from all over the country. Don't miss the thugs I walked among every day. Traveling around with the DW and seeing the country is a welcome change.

Retired Battalion Chief after 30 years in large south Florida Fire-Rescue department. My son is now on the same department. Retired 4 years ago and enjoying.

Every summer we take the toy hauler out west to avoid the south Florida heat and humidity for about 2-3 months. This summer we will spend in Colorado.

I had the opportunity back in the 70's to work with couple of NYPD guys on a waterfront drug task force. Great guys and great stories.

35 years career firefighter. Retired as Deputy Chief from Aurora Fire Department, Colorado, about 5 years ago. Bought a 2010 XLR 23FBV earlier this year but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Really want to get out and have some fun but there's just too many time thieves in our lives right now. Headed to Grand Lake in July and Sturgis in August. Hope to do more soon.

Retired Sheriff's Lt

Retired in 1997 from San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, CA, as Commander of the EVOC Training Center. Still working part time for the US Dept. Of State doing background investigations for Security Clearances for State Department employees. Plenty of time for fun and travel. Still meet several times a week with other retirees for coffee and going to the shooting range.

Happy Trails and be safe.
