First Trip This Season

We finally took our long anticipated trip this past weekend. Went to our favorite campground in the NC mountains.Did my Duch Oven thing for the DW and she was impressed (or at least made me feel she was). I didn't check the MPG but it cost me $50 in gas for a one way trip of about 90 miles or so.

I try to buy my firewood and ice from them because it's only $20 a night for full hookup w/cable (7 channels) and I like to help when I can. When the lady brought the firewood I asked if they ever stored TTs so I wouldn't have to pull it back and forth. She said sometimes they do and she would check to see if it would be OK. Last evening, before dark, she and her husband came by to tell me they would if I wanted to. I pulled out my wallet and paid them right then for the next 6 months. $25 a month to store, I call them when I'm coming and they move the TT to a spot. All I have to do when I get there is hook up the water and sewer. I can store it for two months for what it costs me to pull it up there once. Now maybe since I'm saving some money on gas, I can finally send Mike a little money soon.

We don't pay any additional storage fees, but we still pay the $20 per night regular fee when hooked up.

I love to hear about FAVORITES !!

Neither my DH nor I have been to NC before and we are planning a summer trip that is going to be all about North Carolina. We will spend 2 weeks in the mountains, right now we are looking at the Ashville area but not knowing anything I am open to recomendations.

After that we head east and presently have a 10 day reservation on Cape Hatteras, then all the way back home. Can't hardly wait !!

Please share if you please

Thanks,
MrsKo0p

Here is a link to a good website that covers NC from mountains to the coast. Our favorite CG is not on the site, however. It's a small family owned CG and they don't even have a website. Most of their clientele are repeats, like us. If you like the river scenes, French Broad River Campground in Asheville and Mountain Stream RV Park in Marion are nice. And... welcome to North Carolina.
