Flat towing ?

Hi all, I am setting up a Ford Focus to flat tow. 2 questions: What suggestions does everyone have on supplemental brake systems? And on the Focus it calls for disconnecting the battery ground, do I need to be concerned with battery drain if using a system that requires power like the Blue Ox Patriot brake?

I am using the Blue Ox Patriot on a Honda CR-V and like it so far. I did have to dial the sensitivity down because it was breaking harder than I wanted it to. It does require power so I don't think you want to disconnect your car battery. On my Honda, the shop that set it up for me put in a kill switch to the trip computer and radio which would be a battery drain. I have towed up to 7 hours so far without any noticeable affect on the car battery. There may be a fuse on the Focus you can pull to stop some battery drain too.

I'm towing a Jeep Wrangler behind Sunseeker MBS using InvisiBrake. Couldn't be happier works great.

I've used a Brake Buddy for 7 years with no problems. It does require power. If worst came to worse you could simply rob power from the TV.
