We travel mostly west of the Mississippi, but just shy of California, Oregon, and Washington for reasons not important to this thread. I know several of you frequent Flying J and Pilot because "to you" they are convenient despite the price even with the discount of their fuel cards. I just can't see supporting a fuel stop at least 25 cents higher (if not more) than another station with 90% of ease of access within eyesight 2-3 blocks down the road. Emporia, KS is a prime example. But then admittedly ... I can't see any farther than the "blue oval" when I buy a truck.

Dalford, you are the second person to tell me about the TSD card looks confusing but I will be calling them tomorrow to see if I can get one before we leave on our 4000 mile trip.

Like the Phone App they say they have also.

Dieselguy, I realize diesel can be allot cheaper down the road but I have a 40 foot 5th and big truck so if I wish to get diesel when traveling without unhooking I must use truck stops and the truck lanes.
Most RVers with large rigs use the truck lanes and truck stops, one has to pay if we wish to play

I use the flying j good sams card , TSD card and my normal credit debit card at the diesel pumps for trucks frequently seldom have to go in but on occasion I will have to go in.
I also noticed the higher diesel price is everywhere the closer loves and pilot are to everyone else.
I don’t mind driving a short distance to save a few dollars but the consumption of diesel to get there and back usually eats most the savings especially towing my 42’ nowmy 36 ‘ trl I like knowing before I go

P and FJ used to take TSD/EFS card until Good Sam reminded them years ago they made a exclusive contract. P and FJ stopped the EFS card on RVs and truckers too. On every gallon on RV Plus card P and FJ discounts around 9 cents to buyer and Good Sam reveives almost 3 times as much. P and FJ Plus card is the lowest discount available ~ next is Loves at 28 cents per gallon on EFS. I use TofA and Petro mostly, Loves at times but it will be an emergency before P or FJ.

I agree.. I used to exclusively, when possible, use P and FJ until I I got the EFS card. The discounts vary depending on how much the big boys are buying. My experience has been TA has better discounts that Loves at least on the east coast.

I don’t typically shop fuel prices. I use RVtripwizard and usually try to hit a TA but if not at a convenient mileage point or if the truck stop does not look rv friendly (satellite view) then I will use Loves. Only use P and FJ as a final resort.

I’m not to keen on wandering down the road to save a few bucks. Heck, I used to have a big boat so fuel is just part of the fun.

They do have a phone app but I found it so much easier to just get out and use the card. Saves you time over futzing with the app. It works just like the Pilot card. All the truck stops are pretty much the same on process. They will email you a receipt.

The card is not a credit card. They take the money from a checking account that you give the by ACH. Usually within a day or so.

Thank you all for the info, as said I have (ALL) or acute lymphoblastic leukemia Philadelphia positive from my Vietnam years and Agent Orange exposure. When I was 1st diagnosed I was told I had 3 months to live without a stem cell transplant. I was very lucky my older brother Navy Chief Dave was a perfect match. So excepting the fact that having navy blood in me was better than dying I had the stem cell transplant and am still alive 4.5 years later. I still must take chemo pills and anti-rejection medicine daily though and those trash your immune system. SO we have not been snowbirds for the last two years. We have decided to go back to south Texas this year though what is the point in living if you can't live. BUT I must try and be as careful as possible my Oncologist told me if I get covid it will probably kill me for sure. So after living with ALL for almost 5 years now I hate to die from a virus.
Looking forward to hitting the open road again we just LOVE traveling in our RV. Stay safe Semper fi

I believe that they do NOT accept Discover which most have failed to notice was your question.

Love’s and Flying J both have location apps that also show the price of regular gas at that location.
GasBuddy shows locations and regular gas prices everywhere.
With these apps, you can plan your gas stops for best pricing, and allow for your mpg.

Will the TSD card work at Pilot & J or will they only take their Axle care?

The TSD card will work but there isn't any discount. Might actually cost more after fees but it will turn on the pump and get you fuel.

asr534, so your $88 saved comes out to about $.54 per gallon on average. Do you recall what the posted prices were? On several of my trips this past summer it seemed to me that J's, Pilot, Lovee's etc. had posted prices in the neighborhood of $3.89 per gal. which would average the price you paid about $3.35 per gallon, or, about the same price as virtually every non-truck stop station out there. That is what has held me back from getting a TSD card and sharing my SS# and banking information with them.

However, starting next May my DW and I will be embarking on a two-month cross-country trip, Buffalo, NY to the West coast and as many sites between that we can fit in. Before this trip, I will sign up for the TSD card to have as another travel resource available.

We always use Loves because of their Jalapeno Cheddar wieners that I can cover with onions, spicy mustard, and actual Jalapenos.

Luckily for you I have it in a spreadsheet

This would have been just before Thanksgiving 2020...
Also note that some of the T/A's had different discounts too!

Edit: Their app shows you the discount price and you can follow your route so we did this with little to no effort and not going out of our way for fuel too.
