Folding table for grilling, what are you using?

I looked at several at the"camping" places and they all seemed pretty flimsy. I currently use a 6' folding plastic table that has worked great, but I want something with a metal top instead, just to be safe as we are getting a new griddle/cooktop with a fryer. Any suggestions on one that is sturdy?

We use an alum. bag table. It stores in a bag like a chair. While I would not stand on it. It has been plenty sturdy for our grill. It is in the camper and not here or I would take a picture.

Based on some recommendations on these forums several years ago, I bought a Weber Baby-Q (1200 table top model). Then DW found a folding stand for the Weber on Craig's list. I added griddle pieces. Both fit in the front storage trunk of our A-frame. Both are quality, spendy products (if purchased new).

But it's the best portable grill I have ever owned. Cooks evenly, easy to clean. It's all we need for the 2 of us and a guest or two. Wife was impressed enough that we bought slightly bigger models (2000s) for both son and daughter for their first apartments. Then we found a 3000 model and stand at Salvation Army for $70, cleaned it up, and use that for our home deck grill.

We do have 2 plastic folding tables (one came from Costco) that I'll use for dishwashing and/or food prep. These store between the twin beds in the back of our A-frame. I much prefer the one that goes to 36" high to the lower one.

My wife just picked up a Blackstone Adventure 17" griddle and cooktop with the fryer attachment. I haven't seen it yet, so don't know the size, but I think the one I just found might be what I am looking for. It's 4' by 2'.

I have both a Weber Q and a Camp Chef stove. I put the Q on a stand made by Weber and the stove has integral legs. I added side tables to the Camp Chef. I also have a folding plastic table from Costco.

I can put the grill and stove anywhere and level them since they are free standing. Having the separate table is great for a prep and serving area.

Camp Chef. Burner has it own removable legs and is perfect height. Stores easily in its own carry bag. Cleans easily. We use a disco on it and also bought the grill box. Best setup we have ever had.

Coleman makes a table lile the cabellas pixture shown, ive been using it for 20 years and its still going strong, kinda like a timex, it takes a.licking and keeps on ticking, LOL

Bought this table at Lowes, it's sturdy, it folds down and only take up 3" of height in the basement. We bought a stand for the Blackstone along with a carrying case and use the table as a work surface when cooking. This setup works well for us.

This is what we picked up last night that I would like a sturdy metal table for. I used it last night on the tailgate of my truck to get a feel of how hot it may get, and everything remained cool around it, so it will work on our current resin folding table, but eventually will want a metal one to replace it so I can use the fryer and not worry about if it were to spill over hot oil and melt the table.


It's 30" wide without the handles and 20" deep, so that one I found 48" x 24" will do what I need. Those other camping tables are too small, and the ones I saw at the camping places scare me with how much they wiggle. They had one set up and had a bunch of brochures in stands on it and I brushed past it, they all fell over and scattered. When working with hot oil, that is the last thing I would want, bump into it and have the oil splash out and catch fire.

This is a pretty neat setup with the 17" top, though the 22" is a better one only in that it has 2 burners and can get hotter and keep the heat up better, but the side burner can fit a 14" cast iron skillet, large pot, or the fryer basket too, so we decided to get this instead of the 22" and stand. Best part is works off the RV LP too.

A few years back I bought a folding table at walmart in the camping section. It is half plastic and half wire. We put griddle or grill on wire and use plastic for side table

We're using this light-weight roll-top aluminum one that we got on sale at Camping World a couple of years ago. I wish it were sturdier, but you give up "sturdy" for light weight. However, it has done its job for at least 4 years now.

The Coleman aluminum table weighs 10 pounds, fits into a bag smaller than our folding chairs, and takes only two minutes max to set up. We set it up next to our outdoor kitchen as a prep and set-up table. Works great - easy to clean. Recommend it.

Look at this folding table with fold out metal rack. Works perfect for us. And stores in the same place as the non metal shelve unit. Also at Sam's club for 45 dollars. I use this with our Blackstone grill, works perfect, very sturdy and the price is good for what you get.

How big is that wire side? Need at least 3 feet for it to fit.

X2 have had it for years. Love it bc mine has little hooks that swing down to hang my grilling utensils.
