Just a WAG here as I don't know where you live or where you are going with this RV? The Name "Artic Pack/Polar Pack" does NOT mean you can take it Way North and use it! It is just a little aid for "Above Freezing" weather! Youroo!!
You say Forest River but you don’t mention what brand of RV you have. Forest River covers a ton of brands and which one makes a HUGE difference. Not all RVs are created equal.

I agree, this "package" helps if you are in weather that's slightly below freezing, however, there's additional items you'll need like a insulated/heated hose, etc if you want to use city water.

In our unit we have the enclosed underbelly and tank heaters. After one whole season (grin) which included a few camping trips into the low teens it seemed to do the job. Although it doesn't do anything to protect the external sewer connections which can freeze (and did). There is no way I would consider an extended cold weather camping trip though.
Personally, I am glad we have it. It extends the season a bit and gives you more options.
He owns a cougar and am looking at the sandpiper. Really like that the thermal pane windows come with this package. I think that would make a big difference in the cold and the heat.
