Forest River Protection Plan

In case you did not receive the form to apply for the 1 year Extended Protection Plan from Forest River (Travel Trailers and Fifth Wheels only):

http://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0...ZjQ3N2Fm&hl=en

I could not find the form in my Forest River Packet and the dealer did not provide or mention it to me when I bought my Roo last weekend.

I called Forest River and they faxed me the form. You must apply within 10 days of purchase though. This extends the factory bumper to bumper warranty for 1 more year for a total of 2. The cost is $150. That is a great deal!

Does anyone know if this is available for motor homes as well?

Can some one post this in a larger font so that I can print it out? Hopefully we will be picking up our Rockwood Mini Lite 1809S by the end of April. RV Direct thinks they will have a delivery date soon.

Found out that this applies only to trailers not motor homes.

Are you saying a buyer has 10 days from date of purchase of the trailer to purchase the extended warranty?

There are several aftermarket extended warranty plans available, at considerable costs. I believe what the posts in this thread are referring to is the one-year extended factory warranty that is offered by Forest River with the sale of a NEW travel trailer or fifth wheel. Cost is about $150.00 (USD) if I remember correctly. Can't hardly go wrong for that price, in my humble opinion. And yes, it is only available for a limited time after completion of the purchase.

I did the factory (free) one from FR for the first year. Then went to GoodSam ERS for $79.00, covers trailer and my other vehicles. When I renewed (just moments ago actually) for this year, price started at $109.00 when they first started sending my renewal notices a few months ago. When it got to within two weeks, price I paid was $99.00 for the year. Sometimes it's better to wait to the last minute I guess.

I purchased my trailer from the dealer in February, it is a NEW 2008, with the standard factory warranty, my dealer offerred the 1 yr extended warranty, this is from Forest River, $150.00, I believe I had to purchase the warranty within 10 days, I bought the extended plan on delivery of my trailer, I figured not bad to extend a 2008 for an extra year (2012)

That was three weeks ago............should I have received anything else???

nope, they send back a copy of the FR signed form showing someone from FR received it from you, authorized it and kept one copy and sent the other back to you.
our form was in 3 different colors, i think one white, one yellow and one pink.

When I did the factory one from FR, they were using CoachNet. Don't know if they still are. I received a brocure and membership card in about three-four weeks if my memory is still right. Never had to use it, so can't really comment on service. To be honest, I haven't used the GoodSam ERS yet either, but its comforting to know how large they are.

My dealer didn't tell me about it but during my research on the web I had read about it so I found the form with all my Forest River stuff and sent it in. That was in 2008 and the cost than was a $100 for the extra year.

Not sure of the time frame, but we did mail it in when our rig was new and did get the added coverage.

Should apply to all FR products, check with your dealer, catch is the 10 day time limit from date of purchase. I just bought a trailer 3 months ago, the dealer offered to me at the time of signing the papers, for $150 bucks, can't go too wrong

That's what the deal is supposed to be, but I purchased mine 1 month after buying the trailer in '06. I don't think they'll turn your money down.
