Not what I was saying. I was only stating a possible reason why they parked like that. I would never condone this kind of practice.
If you would see all the threads here, on those who have issues backing up their trailers, you'd see it's a very common issue.

Are they being rude or just ignorant? Don't know, don't care. There seems to be no designated parking for RVs, so there is no right/wrong way. What makes sense to you might not even occur to someone else.
I'll just park where I think is best, and if they took all the spots, I'll go somewhere else.

I haven’t read all of the replies yet but my first thought maybe they were bad at backing into a site then I saw the pictures. No, it’s pretty easy with that amount of open space & markings.

If you are familiar with this lot, over half of the parking spots are pull- through's and were mostly empty. Also long enough for 30+ foot 5-ers with TV's attached. Also large coaches with toads.
Inability to back up was not a factor.

All of the pull-through spaces exit directly onto the access road to this lot. Wasn't an issue for other rigs like his and plenty were available.

Did you read all of my post? I acknowledged the fact I used some of the next space but tried to leave as much room as possible for one of the numerous van campers or pickups with slide in campers that often show up.

At least I didn't take up TEN SPACES.

Did you look at it this way! Maybe they were trying to help you by taking up all of those spaces and save you from loosing your money at a casino. I have never known a casino to be in business to give money away, it is usually the other way around they want your money!

Several years ago I had to spend a couple of nights in a hotel in NV at a casino. The casino provided you a roll of nickels for every night you spent there. I came home with the $4.00. I asked my boss if I needed to claim this on my expense report. His reply was you are cheap, I said no I don't give my money away!

About 15 years ago, I finally figured something out that may help one half of the posters on this: Whenever I'm driving down the freeway and someone goes zipping past me, weaving through traffic (or cutting me off, or turning in front of me, etc. . . .), instead of shouting at the inside of my windshield, "Hey *****-H&!#, slow down!!!" (like I used to), I literally say to myself, "You know, maybe that guy just got a call from the hospital that his child was in an accident, or that his parent had a medical emergency . . . and he's got 15 minutes to possibly say goodbye to a loved one."
Now, of course I know the chances of that being true are minimal, but it is amazing how much it helps to just put that thought out there. What if I had just got that call? Would I be driving like a maniac to get to the hospital? You bet . . .
In this case, maybe the guy who parked there was travelling with a disabled senior and had to park that way to allow for access? Maybe their tow vehicle limped into the parking lot, conked out, and they had to spend their trip savings to get it towed while their trailer was left behind?
Possible? Yes. Probable? No, but just the empathetic thought will do wonders for you!! (After all, I know that *****-H&!# isn't REALLY on his way to the hospital, but it helps to put the thought out there!!)

I stayed in this lot twice since the first of the year, once on my way to AZ and once on the way back. Actually won both times. Winnings paid for most of my fuel bill. Just luck but it sure felt good.

That's how I remember it but it's been a few years since we had to stay in that lot. We normally get two free nights in their great RV park.

Perspective..... Everyone's is a little bit different.

I should have stated. Overnight parking. Daytime parking I would leave the trailer in a designated parking spot by it's self. I would not have a problem with my trailer in one spot and my TV in another. But to be blocking 3 or 4 spots is being an inconsiderate.

Point was, considerate to you might be inconsiderate from another point of view. Not everyone looks through the same spectacles.

I park cross ways all the time. I'm longer than 2 spaces, generally. Those look like RV spaces, so I'd take those first, but in an empty lot, I don't think either is inconsiderate.

Now let's discuss cars in "RV/bus" spots!

First world problems, for sure.

When parking in a "Free" lot, we do our best to make purchases of items needed at that establishment and use common sense by taking as little space as possible and being as unobtrusive as possible. My slides stay IN. My Generator stays OFF. My rig and I always stay within 5 minutes notice of pulling out if needed.
If I want to disconnect, kick out the slides, break out the barbecue, etc - I break out my wallet and pull into an RV Park or Campground.

Last year we pulled into a Walmart and saw a 5th wheel toy hauler that had the truck disconnected, generator running, lawn furniture out, awning deployed, kids bikes out and a side-by-side unloaded and parked along side their Pink-Flamingo decorated "Encampment"...
I just shake my head and keep my mouth shut.


It won't take long before it's ruined for everyone..

I live in Canada and when I first got my class “A” motorhome, I couldn’t wait to visit the southern states. With no experience in how to park in wide open parking lots, I assumed you parked a motorhome the same way you do a car right….nope. On about our third day, we stopped at a Wal-Mart, parked in a secluded place far from the entrance and between the lines as we would have done with our car. We wanted to go shopping but it took us a few minutes to get ready. Now my exit door has a frosted window in it so you can’t see outside. Imagine my surprise and horror when I opened the door and the entry steps started to extend. Right there next to us was a vehicle parked in the parking space next to us. I froze as my steps started to inched their way towards the side of the vehicle. I was sure they were going to hit it. Luckily for me the steps ended up deploying underneath the vehicle. Now I can’t say why this person decided to park so far from the entrance or why he chose to park so close to me since they was ample spaces to choose from but from that day on I decided that I will never park between the lines again. When I park I intentionally park over the line, using 4 spaces. I don’t do this because I’m an ******* who is inconsiderate I do it because I’m an out-of-country tourist who doesn’t want the hassle of being sued by some moron who decided to park his vehicle too close to mine. One close call is enough for me.

Most of us tend to think of ourselves 80% of the time -- some much more. That doesn't allow much for thinking of others. That said, I continue to be positively impacted by the "above average" courtesy we experience while co-existing with the RV "family", wherever we park and camp. With refreshingly rare exceptions, it seems that RV'ers don't follow the "80% custom".
