Fresh Water Sanitation and Water Heater

This is going to be my first spring to sanitize the fresh water supply. Every video and article I read has said go ahead and run the bleach and water mix thru the entire system, including the water heater. I just want to make sure that is correct and I won't regret it later. Thanks.

It won't hurt your water heater, you don't leave it in the system long enough to do damage. I have done and need to bleach treat my private well at home and never worried about bleach in the wh.

As a suggestion..If your unit was winterized. Don't open the Valve to the Hot Water Tank until you have forced the Pink antifreeze out of the waterlines. let the hot and cold waterlines run clean for a bit before you start to sanitize.
