Friendly Wave

I just finished a 7000 KLM round trip Canada through the US. I gave a friendly wave to hundreds of RV's and only got 2 waves back the whole trip. My wife laughed and thought I was nuts but I thought of it as cool. I think the RV community should give a friendly wave to our fellow travelers along the way. I remember when I was riding my motorbike I would pass a fellow biker we would give a wave, it would give you a feeling of solidarity. Just a thought.

I've noticed very few bikers even wave these days. I guess solidarity is out.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only "friendly waver" out there. It's amazing how few other RV folks will wave. I've told my wife "I'm on a crusade to start RV Waves". She laughs too, but has started helping me watch to see if we get a return wave.

BigBay - all we can do is try to start the ball in motion, then see if others will pick up the habit.

They are probably too busy using both opposable thumbs to send texts.

Seriously, maybe some don't wave because they are concentrating on driving a large rig.

I've told my wife "I'm on a crusade to start RV Waves". That's exactly what I told my wife! Maybe we will meet on the road one day a give each other a wave.

I wave sometimes. U am surprised how friendly everyone tends to be in the CG that no one will wave on the road... I have my thoughts as well as to why but that would take this topic off the rails! LOL

Maybe so where you are but down here in the South bikers waving is still very common. I even get a little tired of it when I'm riding the mountain roads on a weekend and the hoards of amateurs are out, but I still do it.

x2 there, I try to wave but depending on conditions, but try to stay focused on my rig and the highway.

Could be they are driving white knuckled and need both hands on the wheel to keep to out of the ditch. I wave for sure, Its the polite Canadian Way. I have been RVing since 1968 and seems some of the newbies are figuring this fun way to spend money out!

My experience with the MC riders is that the majority give the wave, left hand out at the side, even the elitist cruiser bunch to me on my V-Strom. RVing I've pretty well used up most of my attention getting down the road so forgive me.

LOL, I've joked with the wife that I'm also on the crusade.

The reality is- with the windshield, sun glare, and extra concentration that it takes to drive these bigmobiles- it's common and expected to not get a wave back.

We've been through the Harley wave, Jeep wave (still), and now RV wave when possible!
