You should only need the one without the mounting bracket. However, when I bought mine off Amazon, the one WITH the bracket was cheaper. Same unit. So, now I have an extra bracket!

I just did this myself on the new trailer. As mentioned purchase the one with the 48 in the number. It literally takes 3 minutes to install. And that includes gathering your tools (screw driver, ladder if needed) Unscrew 4 screws on the mounting plate to remove the "blank". Connect the one wire in there, put the 4 screws back in, and done. The monitor and camera are already synched together.

I bought the Furrion observation camera and love it! Make sure to get the observation NOT the back up. Better picture and you can monitor traffic while you are on the road. Great investment

Fully agree--the key word is "observation", not the lesser "backup" model.

Our Silverback 29IK came with the Furrion back-up system which was OK at best. I just replaced it with the Furrion Observation system which IMHO is far superior. I can now actually see the goofs behind me that are so close that I can't see them in the outside mirrors. I bought the new one from Amazon and as has been said before it was about $50 cheaper to buy the one with the mounting bracket than the one without. Go figure. I now have an extra mount although I can't imagine how the existing mount could fail. It took longer to get the ladder out than it did to swap out the units.
Some manufacturers wire the camera to the back-up lights and some to the running lights. Running lights allow you to use it any time you are hooked up.
I'm really happy with the new unit so far.

Cheers

I replaced the antenna with a better gain antenna, much better reception.
