gas discount

I didn't know this because the Sheetz stores are relatively new in our area....but I discovered that the free Sheetz card gives a three-cent discount at the pump for all grades and diesel. Just have to swipe your Sheetz card and then your credit card.

Even with the discount, Sheetz isn't always the lowest for gas in our area but sometimes it is, and other times it's pretty close to being the lowest. The card also gives discounts on items bought inside the store.

They will give you a card for the asking, and you just go home and register it online.

I have never towed a trailer into a Sheetz, but at the ones I've seen, the pumps seem to be pretty far from the building. Probably would be tight for some of the really big units.

I hope my discovery will help some who are not familiar with these store. Took me about a year after ours opened to find out about the discounts.

Never heard of them. But I do go to NC some. We have similar thing with Kroger, who sells gasoline too. Discounts increase as your grocery spending increases. Can be a dime a gallon up to a dollar a gallon. Works at King Super out west also.

I'm sure there are lots of these..........a good idea.

Right on. best discount gas there is. My wife buys enough groceries each month we are usually at the 50 cents off per gallon, sometimes a buck.

All crap gas anyway no matter where you buy it so might as well get the best discount.

Around here however, no diesel.

Agree, good idea. They are based in PA, and we just started seeing them down here a few years ago.

We have never had any luck using the Good Sam discount. Every time we tried to use it they wanted prepaid at a set dollar amount I was going to purchase... how am I to know, I want to fill up and have no idea what the dollar amount will be.

The program aceinspp was talking about is an RV PLUS card which is actually a credit card that you use at the pump and your Good Sam discount is automatically applied at flying j and pilot. Google it for the details. We use it constantly. It also gives you discounts to most items you buy inside.

If your intent is to get the best discount on your fuel purchases, look into a credit card that gives you a nice percentage discount. There are some that offer close to 5%off the selling price per gallon, that equates to twice the discount when compared to cents off per gallon. Just sayin'

We have Speedway which gives a 3 cent discount. I have been able to use Kroger points for 80 cents off per gallon. Guess we need to eat more for a buck off

Use a credit card with a 5% cash back on gas and the good Sam / discount card. However we only get a 3cent discount. RJD how are you getting 6cents? Using diesel? Jay

Just to clarify, you mean you're getting both discounts, the credit card which @ 5% is around 11 cents +/- a gal, AND the deeeluxe member cents off discount too?

Nope, the RV plus card is actually a credit card so you only get the one 7 discount. But the card has no other associated fees.

Here in the northeast, we have Cumberland Farms. If you download their free app, you can use it to save $0.10 off per gallon.

I have a PenFed credit card that gives me 5% off if you swipe the card. Flying J is just too high for me, I find the cheapest place to buy diesel but only if I can swipe my card.

I hear you on that! Every truck stop (out here anyway) is at least 40 higher than in town. Can't figure out why. Guess they are gouging the truckers. We only use flying j when we are pulling now. We used to use them all the time.
