Yeah, it came down one cent here in Jacksonville from 3. 85 to 3.84. WHOOPIE !!!!! Gas here is about the cheapest there is in Florida, from past experiences- (JAX to the Keys, at least) Still, not exactly a bargain! Randy

I heard on the news, that gas might drop close to $.30 by Memorial Day. Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Right--I see the price of crude dropped below $100 a barrel this week. How long will it take the price at the pump to come down? I can see the devil lacing up his ice skates as we speak.

In today's paper it said that yesterday's decline in price per barrel was the largest decline in over 2 and a half years. They are predicting drops of close to $.50 a gallon by mid summer. Here in NY, they'll probably just increase the tax by the same amount and hope we don't notice.

We already pay a road tax here in a way. If the GCWR of your rig is over 11,000lbs your registration goes up. I am registered at 17,000 and my registration went up $156.00 per year plus I had to get a National Safety Code Certificate of Safety Fitness that must be with the registration for the truck all the time because I travel outside the province weighing over 11,000 lbs and that cost another $50.00.

Today's Miami Herald:

"Some relief from suffocating gas prices will likely arrive just in time for summer vacation. Expect a drop of nearly 50 cents as early as June, analysts say.

After rocketing up 91 cents since January, including 44 straight days of increases, the national average this past week stopped just shy of $4 a gallon and has retreated to under $3.98. A steady decline is expected to follow."

Also in today's Herald:

"First quarter profits for American oil companies are jaw dropping. Exxon earned nearly $11 billion, up 69 percent from a year ago. Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Europe’s largest oil company, announced it made $8.78 billion in the first quarter, a 60 percent increase over last year."
