Yes, but if you panic buy and too off your tank as opposed to waiting until you are closer to empty, you’ll be putting in a lot less gas. You can only fill it so far.

We are camping in Branson. Drove to Springfield yesterday. Plenty of Gas. Prices are hovering around 2.74 per gallon. I looked at the affected pipeline map and Southwest Missouri was not on the map.

Pilot Flying J has at which station is out of gas, there not many as of this AM. If your traveling you just need to plan your day and gas stops better then normally. But there is gas around.

The media fuels the panic buying. What's the first thing that happened when the media reported that stores were running out? Everyone that was low went out and bought it too. I did.. I had to.. I was almost out and needed it. We have 4 kids so the "one package per customer" rule didn't help us out. The lady at the local BJ's with a cart overflowing with TP was the abuser.

I can only hope the people in Central/south Florida read before they panic and discover our fuel comes in tankers and not pipe lines. I need enough diesel this weekend to get to the keys.

When gas shortages occur it's not just the topping off of the tanks that exacerbates the problem, it's the filling of every gasoline container the customer can lay their hands on.

I remember the first major gas panic in the 70's when people would fill up every day and many had several 5-gallon containers stored in garages, shops, garden sheds, etc.

And then there's the price gouging-------------

Sherm, yes, it is sad when "reality" is a moving ******. On another note, one of the big newspapers was predicting possible 3 dollar a gallon gas prices this Summer because of the shortage of gasoline delivery truck licensed drivers.

OVERNIGHT Red-eye radio reported that many major cities on the east coast were having some big outage problems in the central Atlantic states.

Advise was to fuel outside of the larger cities.

Panic buying drove up demand by 32% adding to the problem.

Driving home from the dentist yesterday I passed six gas stations. Four of them had people with 1-5 gallon gas cans being filled. Most were going back inside SUV's Now is that dumb or what, not to mention panic buying. I live about three miles from the Colonial Pipeline tank farm. Some stations here are out of gas and diesel, but most have it available.

I would tend to speculate that a speculative guess by speculating of course to get gas is all on a speculation at this point.

Anyones guess (Pensacola florida relative is reporting all seems normal.)

All pilot Flying J have diesel, as of today, per there web site, you will not have a problem finding it

I'm not sure how accurate or up to date the "availability" map on GasBuddy is. It's showing 95% of the stations around us have fuel (not limited availability). But lots of friends in the area are posting photos and comments on facebook that show these same stations are out of everything except diesel. Facebook comments were from today and not old ones.

Also a lot of folks were talking about the grocery stores being swarmed like it was a "snow day" coming (in the south, everything stops before snow/ice and everything is bought in a panic - it's a southern tradition apparently). The wife went to the Kroger today and found everything we normally would buy for the week and said it was like a ghost town, no customers. I guess all the panic buyers have come and gone and they restocked the shelves. Same could be true of gas I guess as trucks are still rolling to get the fuel out, just takes a lot longer.

Friend in NC reporting 68% of their stations are sold out. Happy to report no lines in my area of NJ, and price remains at 2.95/g. Just filled up for first RV trip of season tomorrow. Glad I'm staying pretty local, in state.

We're leaving the Tampa Bay area Wednesday AM returning to MD, up the I-95 corridor.

No problems at all getting fuel in the Tampa area, but there are reports of big fuel problems in Pensacola and Tallahassee for some strange reason. I can't figure that one out.

Interested in Jacksonville, SC, NC and VA reports along I-95.

If it's really bad it would be better for us to stay put down here where there is gas but it's starting to get hot [emoji91]

The reason for the fuel situation in the Tallahasse area is because many of the locations receive their fuel from terminals in SW Georgia, which have been impacted by the pipe line problem. The other issues are having enough tankers and drivers to meet the demands caused by a rush to the pumps.

In Tallahassee, it’s closer to 90% being out of fuel.

Just saw the Colonial pipeline is coming back online. Things will be back to normal soon!
