Use the app Gas Buddy. It tells you when the stations are out of fuel!

Gas buddy only shows what users put in. It showed no gas in one section but that was not the case when I went through

As of today

I am returning from upstate NY at the moment. My strategy was to stay on the interstates. I took 81 to77 to 95. Filled up at 1/2 tank and only had one stop where they only had 87 octane. Gas buddy shows rural areas with limited fuel options which I thought would be hi test but maybe they are shipping 87 as a priority. I am at the Georgia Florida line and good to go back to Sarasota. Asheville and the DC area were hard hit. I suspect that big cities in general are a problem based on population and hoarding.

Ps to “as of today”

I can add that I have been staying at rest stops as I was uncertain about booking ahead. When trying to book campsites last minute they were full or unable to book. Walk ups are less likely due to COVID restrictions. Most gas stations and businesses are requiring masks but not enforcing the policy. In some states I was the only one wearing a mask.

Never was an issue in the Arkansas Ozarks so I doubt there is an issue North of here.

Gasoline available

Just made a trip from Boone North Carolina through Columbia SC on 26 and 95 to the Tampa Florida area. No gas availability issues. Smooth sailing. Best wishes. Gas Buddy works.
