No experience

You folks have alleviated my minor concerns.this would just be for overnight stays on the way to our destination..I just haven't done it...while this is an everyday occurrence for many of you..
I cast my own bullets and hand load many rounds of ammo...I think it is the same...

When I do have to carry and ues my generator it stays in the bed of the truck, tailgate up, cuts down on moise. Aim exhaust toward fartherest point from gen. Never had a problem
Can barely heare it on my camper and we are closest to it

The manufacturer is covering their A** if they recommend a ground rod.
Just keep in mind if a generator is not properly grounded you can become the ground.
