Generator to borrow/rent - storm impact in CT

Our area in Northeast Connecticut was hit pretty hard by Isaias and our power has been out since Tuesday afternoon. We have a great Alpha Wolf TT sitting in the yard but no generator to run 30 amp. Luckily, the fridge has been running on gas and saved most of the food from the house but I’d like the wife and kids to have some power for climate control, lights and maybe a warm shower.

Obviously, no generators are available in the region.

If there is anyone with a spare generator being unused in the area, we’d love to be able to borrow or even rent it for a few days. I suspect power won’t be restored for awhile.

Our cell connections have been awful too so apologies if my replies are spotty.

Thanks in advance!

If you were closer I have a spare generator you'd be welcome to use as long as needed.

Unfortunately I'm in the other upper corner of the US.

Me too Mike... I've got three they could borrow and while I'm certainly closer, I'm hours and hours away and they could stop and buy one in another state for less money than I could get it to them.

I hope they find someone nearby.

If you are willing to drive to near Watertown NY I have a P3000 Briggs & Stratton you can use (not rent). PM me. I'm probably about 4 -5 hours from you. New Haven is 296 miles from us right up I-90 (NY Thruway).

In the past there have been companies that load up trailers with generators and go to storm hit areas. They set up in various large parking lots. No big discounted bargain prices but when in need---

Many thanks everyone.

I’ve got a friend outside of Boston that is letting me borrow a generator tomorrow.

Estimates are that power may not be restored until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Good news. Be safe and best of luck to you and others affected by the storm.
