Getting blown away on our first trip this season

Well, we have our first trip of the season in the books. We stayed local in CO Springs at Cheyenne Mtn State Park. I had some anxiety over the forecasted storm as they were calling for up to 15" of snow with high winds. We ended up with only 3" but the 70mph gusts during the first night kept us awake most of the night. Luckily the wind direction was mostly head-on with the front of the camper. My wife asked several times throughout the night if the camper would blow over. I didn't believe it would but was worried about a 70mph broadside gust hitting the camper just right. Luckily that did not happen and we survived with only sleep deprivation. Since we were right across the road from Ft Carson, we enjoyed Reveille, Retreat, and Taps everyday. The brush fires on Ft Carson were quickly extinguished after the moisture.

The rest of the trip was great and the last day was beautiful with sunny skies.

When we returned home, we were greeted by a 3' drift across our driveway that had to be shoveled before we could start unpacking.

Lol, we had the same problem with snow at thee camp site. We had a 3' snow pile that had to be moved. The guy asked if we really wanted the site, and I said yes. No winds like you had though, I'm glad everything and you guys are ok.Click image for larger version
