Gift Idea for Friends

Some friends of ours we’ve been trying to get into camping with us bought a new camper this week and we’re thinking about getting them a ‘camper warming’ gift. Any ideas or suggestions?

A million dollars to get them through the first 2 months of buying stuff for it.

Depends on the camper. One of those Atlas's at Walmart would be good.

Right now, I wish someone had bought me a bug fogger!

I received a sign with a painting of a camper and our names on it. It has a light on top and a stake at the bottom. That's the first thing I grab after setting up.

A backup camera if their camper didn't come equipped with one. May save a divorce.

We bought a fold up clothes line that attached to the rear bumper because they liked ours.

You can always go for a theme-based present. With our Cardinal, the first thing my wife bought for it was a couch pillow that said "Bless this Nest" due to the bird name. You didn't mention brand they bought - but if you do that might spur some other theme-based gift ideas.

Also - you didn't give any indication whether you want to spend $10 or $500 on this gift. That might help narrow things down too.

Some possible ideas...bird feeder that attaches to the windows...hummingbird feeder that attaches to the window...a nice rain gauge (we carry a rain gauge with us everywhere we go and put it out if rain is predicted)...you might give them a Zero-G water hose (extremely flexible and easy to store and saves a lot of frustration, safe for drinking water and available at Lowe's)...plastic tub for storing things in (I have my front storage 100% contained in plastic tubs with DYMO labels on them telling what is in them - like sewer hose, drinking water, TV cables, etc.).

Friends of ours gave us an RV Journal
(https://www.amazon.com/RV-There-Yet-...gateway&sr=8-8 ) over 2 years ago and still use it for every trip.

Personalize it a bit with a nice sign with their name on it.

Buy them a cooler with the expectation that any time you show up or go camping together, he better have cold beer in it!

Extension cords. 20” high vel fan. Yellow bocks. X-chocks. Toilet supplies. Set of electric adapters. Wire terminal kit and cheap meter. Descent sewer hose. Water hose and adapters. Etc..

Go over and “help” them look at it and notice what’s missing. Taadaaa

Wow, these are ALL great gift ideas, but.... I think the journal wins!

I started my own journal, when we bought our first MH, & before we leave our driveway, I ask my DH the mileage, & the time.

I TRY to post something in it every day we're gone, & have done a pretty good job; we enjoy reading back thru it, and I always list our thoughts on the campground we stayed at, how much we paid for gas, stuff like that. It's useful, and fun!

I suggest a custom made name plate / welcome sign for hanging outside their camper. We got a gorgeous metal one with our names and the city we’re from (10x20) for about $100. But customised wood ones can be ordered online for under $50.

What good apps? We’re still relatively new to this ourselves.

A good sewer hose! The ones that come with the RV are usually good for only a few dumps before they begin to split and leak....they will remember you with every use....LOL!
