Good idea to look under 2-way refrigerator vent cap

Recently noticed some "yellow jackets" paying extra attention to the vent cap for my refrigerator. Experience has told me they usually have set up housekeeping in spaces like this.

Applied some Raid Wasp/Hornet spray to openings yesterday and today I removed the cover. Sure enough, this is what I found.
A couple squirts of the Raid for the survivors of previous application and the corpses were evicted.

Easy to see that given time their nest could well have impacted air flow and refer performance. Making this cover a maintenance/inspection item would be a good idea.

BTW. The Pic shows the nest where I flipped it after uncovering it. They were building it on top of the bug screen at the top of the vent stack, just under the cover.

Probably the #1 cause of RV fires, at least by my estimate. Wasps and propane fridges.

Especially when simple "maintenance" is ignored
