Good place for maiden voyage!

Hi all!! Thanks for a great site and reference point for a new guy. I'm in south central Pa. Where would you all suggest we go for are first trip? It's me the wife and our three year old. I'm looking to stay close to homebe . Say maybe 3 hours or less. Your input will be real helpful!

One thing I would caution you is. This coming weekend is the final weekend that most of the campgrounds are open or if they are open the following weekend their water is generally turned off for the season. There are a great number of very nice parks within 3 hours of you in PA. Welcome aboard and congrats with the new RV.

If it's a new rig, your driveway. Honestly you should get accustomed to your rig and find the problems with it before you are out and away from the house. Spend a couple of nights in it in the driveway before you hit the road. Our friends bought a new FR 5er about a year ago and their first trip was just down the street from us and only about 1/2 from their home. They new they could just drive to our house only about 5min from the campground if they needed help or tools. They did in fact find a few things that needed to be attended to including a loose hose on the back of the city water inlet that was allowing the water to leak into the storage compartment of the trailer. You don't want something like this ruining a whole weekend away from home.
