good warranty issues

Hi everyone, after reading about FR's second year warranty, I contacted the company because it wasn't offered by my dealer. I took delivery of a Wildwood X-lite 181BHXL about 20 days ago. FR emailed me a form and told me to send a check or MO for $150. Great deal, to bad the dealer didn't offer. I then asked the FR rep, how I should go about having some minor issues resolved. I know, I can take it back to the dealer, but they didn't do my any favors the first time. He suggested that any minor issues should be taken in within 90 days. I was going to wait a little while to see what needed attention but 90 days for cosmetic things was good information. I called the dealer to make an appointment and they was happy to help. Hopefuly the service department is better than the sales department, we'll see on the 16th.

Well that sounds good that FR allowed you to buy the extended warranty. We purchased it also but was given the form from the dealer and it stated it had to be returned to FR within 10 days from date of purchase. FR came through and did you well Later RJD

good warranty issues

Wish my dealer would have said something about the second year warranty. Finding this forum was the first I heard of it. By then, we had owned the TT for 7 months. [emoji22]

the Dealer didn't say anything, the conversation on this forum made me call FR. They asked how long I have had the TT. I told them 25 days and they emailed me a form and instructions.... my dealer charged me $1,800 for an after market warranty (5 yrs.) Lucky for me I read 50 or 60 posts while I was w8n for delivery.

When I spoke to Forest River regarding their 2nd year warranty for $150 they told me that the dealers are not required to tell you! Many dealers try to sell you an extended warranty/service contract where they receive a large commission.

Reading the back side of the brochure will give you a heads up also on the warranty. Pays to read once in a while. Later RJD

Please tell me you're you being facetious RJD is the second year warranty explained or offered on the original warranty paperwork. It's obvious I didn't pay enough due diligence before I got the extended warranty. If I would have know about the second year factory warranty and been more familiar with this site. I would have passed on the expensive warranty and asked for help from the rank and file. I feel confident, I can fix or adjust almost anything by just asking and watching YouTube. I'm don't consider myself "handy", my home projects usually run "over" but, I'm not afraid of trying almost anything now.
