Got Hammered!

A huge thunderstorm blew through the campground. We had a river running through our site. Outdoor carpet was covered in 1.5 inches of sand. All the shoes washed away (found them two sites down). Power is out and so is the water. Thankfully I filled the water up prior too and have all LEDs. And the temperature finally broke.

Should be a good night, hopefully.

Wow! Hope campground recovers power and water soon for you and others there.
Where are you camping?

Regards,

I've gotten caught in some pretty bad storms before, but never lost power. Hope you guys have a good rest of the night. Maybe they'll get your power and water back in the morning.

Just got back from a walk. Couple of awnings down, a tree fell on a truck. At one point saw a 14 ft wide 6 inch deep river running down the road. But everyone seems to be ok.

As an update. 24 hours later, still no power. Just got water back a bit ago. Hopefully we get power soon, tt is hot inside. Got all the sand off the carpet and everything cleaned back up. Lots of campers left since the was no power.

30+ hours later and no power. 2nd night boondocking it at a CG! Starting to want something more than "in one hour" answers. It was "1" hour ago yesterday!

You guys will be talking about this trip for years to come.

Are you at Yogi Bear Park at Tall Pines Resort?

45 hours power is restored. The staff offered to move us to the other side of the CG. Other side is on a different grid and had power. But we liked our site and its location, so we turned them. Drop time to move was going to be 5 pm for us, but we got power at 3:45. Hooray.
