Which one do you suggest ?

I prefer garmin but there are many good ones. I like a larger screen but most are adequate. The one thing I would suggest is make sure you get lifetime map updates on your purchase. Then your gps always has the latest road changes. Buying maps updates is expensive so I believe the lifetime updates are well worth the extra money you spend up front. Lifetime traffic is also a nice feature. Good luck on your purchase. Jt

I too use the garmin in my truck and SUV. Maps have decent detail on off-roading too.
Once you get one, be sure to download the free first update immediately, and then every year or so after to keep things current for no suprised.
Mine's probably 18 months since last update. Headed for a couple of gas stations no longer there :-(

We have a Garmin Nuvi 885T and really like it. We have used it in Massachusetts, Canada's Maritime Provinces, Yukon Territories and Alaska. We never cease to be amazed at the information in it.

i have the garmin 465T. gives truck routes, bridge clearances, and truck stops. although it is made for the trucking industry, it works well with the travel trailer. Cobra also makes one.
u can switch it to car mode if u aren't towing.
i understand that there is one made specifically for the RV (by Magellen?). there are a few post abt it but i have no experience with it.

i find, when i'm towing, i want the truck routes. would prefer one made specifically for the rv industry. what comes to mind is that the rv is allowed on the Natchez trace but the garmin, in truck mode, simply tells u to get off. i have to put it on car mode to use the trace. when i do, i loose the overpass and curve warnings.

There is a new Rand Mcnally GPS discussed in this thread, http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...igs-12950.html that seems to be pretty good for RVs.

If you can get one with the Detours for Propane it will make life alot easier - I have a regular GPS Garmin NUVI and took a trip up north and on the way back it took me thru Maryland instead of the Bypass since I could not go in the tunnel with Propane - am thinking I had something to do with it since I hit Detour on the GPS - my father kept asking me if I had a Map and told him only GPS LOL
