Maine

First one is sunrise atop Cadillac mountain last week, second one is sunset at KOA Oceanside on Mt Desert Island and 3rd one is sunset at Booth Bay. I highly recommend Oceanside KOA waterfront spots for the sunsets. Sites 342-346 are magnificent. We booked it 10 months in advance though.

ARE U sure that's not a forest fire???

Just kidding. I used to live in EXTREME Northern MN,,, 90 miles from Int. Falls and MY big lament was, No sunsets - too many trees. The ONLY way I could get a sunset was on the east end of a 3-mile wide lake - and they are rare up there.

Now, I live in the pine-forest of Louisiana and same darn deal - NO real sunsets here - JUST the most delicate 'lace" woven by the treetops in the twilight - My southern-born wife LOVEs this place - and so do I................

SKY on FIRE !! Thanks...

Its not a forest fire for sure - so few trees in the southern part of our province, gives us the fastest dogs, if you know what I mean lol. Here is another picture from the same park - this park is the highest point in Canada, east of the Rockies - normally we are very flat, to low rolling hills.

Thanks for the geography update. Actually - I am familiar with the Canadian "Plains" having I myself originated in South Dakota. Treeless indeed. I have been to Jasper and Banff, so I know Rockies and trees.

Wow! There are a bunch of great shots on this thread! Can't believe I haven't seen it before today. Here's my contribution - from Pacific Beach State Park in Washington, taken around May 21st this year. It started raining a few minutes later.

Okay Paulie! You win. That Enterprise picture is the coolest! I didn't even have to read your text. As soon as I scrolled down I saw that. Awesome catch!

Fort desoto south tip of Pinellas county. This was late June.
The first picture is sunset. Second is sun rises fishing trip to the sunshine skyway fishing pier. Only about 15 minutes from fort desoto. Third is sunset at Disney. Click image for larger version

If you are still following this thread, remember that you can click and expand every picture. It gives a whole different perspective...

After starting this thread, we've looked at every entry, commenting on many, and am surprised that it is still running.

When I expand many of these great pictures, it makes me want to get back on the road...many memories.

Perhaps someone should start a "campfire pictures". I could contribute a few!
