GVWR on TT

Issa the GVWR that is listed on a TT only for when it is traveling down the road or is it for when setup too? For example, if I'm almost at my GVWR without fresh water and then I fill the tank at the campground so it exceeds my GVWR is that fine? Should I keep it under GVWR even when at the campground?

No need to worry about that when you're stationary. First year in our Cherokee in 2017 we had 11 adults sleeping in it for the weekend. With tanks full, I'm pretty sure we exceeded the #2250 cargo capacity of the TT.

Enjoy and Happy Travels.

I agree with the others so far.

However another concern: If you are at or close to GVWR, also watch out for weight distribution. Too much weight at front, and you may go over tongue weight. Too much at the back, and you increase sway.

Your in Michigan so think of it this way, the tt sitting outside in the winter with 12+" of wet snow on the roof, which is probably not uncommon in your state. No dealer I know is going to spend the day cleaning the snow off every rv on his lot, none do in Wisconsin, he'll let nature take it's course. Whether the wind blows it off or the sunshine melts it.

It's very much different when it comes to the owner with his new baby/toy.
