Ham Radio and Field Day.

Ham Radio and RVing.

I searched for an existing thread. Look's like most are closed.

Good Time to start a new thread.

Ham Radio "Field Day". It is this weekend!

http://www.arrl.org/field-day

I have been working on getting a Ham Radio Club started at my American Legion Post. We finally have 6 Hams. 2 General Class and 4 Technicians. We will be on the Air Saturday for about 4 hours.

There are about 50 American Legion affiliated Ham Radio Clubs across the country.

https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/vi...7018254222&z=4

For a list of ARRL (American Radio Relay League) affiliated clubs go here.

Search for ARRL Affiliated Clubs

Most Clubs will be very helpful with getting a license and or upgrading. Or getting back into the hobby. A club can be your catalyst.

Field Day

Hi Bill!

Looks like good weather up here in Southwestern PA for Field Day.

I have been out of the hobby for a few years and now that I am retired looking to become active again.
There is a local club that looks promising, so maybe some day we will meet on the air.

Outstanding! Yep. Retirement is a great time to pick up where we left off.

Good Luck!

Enjoy Field Day! It’s a time to demonstrate your skills of amateur radio to the general public!

I belong to the Nashville Amateur Radio Club (K4CPO) established in 1934.

Hope to hear you Saturday!

Have a great Field Day.
Like DLSteve I've not been active for several years but retirement is giving me more time for more things. Thanks for the reminder about the upcoming weekend.

Yes. Hoping all are enjoying and having fun with Field Day. I am working 12 hour day shifts, so missing all the fun this year. So go out there and make some contacts for me! Lol!

Ham Radio Field Day

Here is my HF-6V mounted on the back of our Wildwood 253RLXL. Works very well 80M - 10M. The radio is a Tentec 599AT Eagle.

First Field

We did it. We had our first Field day. We had a good time and everyone learned a lot! We had several visitors. We only operated about 5 hours.

I suspect that by next years Field Day we will be more experienced and be better equipped and may last 6 hours. Hi hi.

Nice Set up. What do you consider that? Mobile?

I am still trying to figure out a good HF antenna for camping. Since we always got to State Parks with lots of trees. I may go with a half wave end fed.
