Have you put off Winterizing?

If so you might want to look at what's in store for some parts of the country and make it a priority.

If you are in the Mid-West, East Coast, and even the South, it's going to get so cold the "Weather Guessers" are saying 170 or more records can be broken.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/to...cid=spartandhp

Some parts of the South will only see daytime HIGH temps in the 30's.

Time to bring in all the Brass Monkeys

Two weeks ago I winterized the rig with daytime temperatures in the mid 60’s and wondered why why why why am I closing up when it’s this nice.

Yesterday we got a dusting of the first snow, and it’s still on the lawn and bushes.
Thin layer of ice on the lake down at the dock.

Now I know.....and I’m glad I did it when I did.

Counting the days until next season though..........

Done here!

We've had multiple days already in the mid teens and lower twenties with several inches of snow last night.
The ski resorts are saying they are going to try to be open for the weekend with man made snow and these low temps. That's a bit early as that usually doesn't happen until Thanksgiving.

This is the first winter we plan to head to FL with the 5th wheel right after Christmas. Hope we can!

Here's to some good weather when you leave.

From the sounds of things, people in Florida won't have to put their beer in the refrigerator. They'll just be able to leave it on the back porch and it will be cold enough.

Still in the 80s here. It's unlikely to freeze hard enough for long enough even in January to need winterizing.

Annnnd.... We're going camping next weekend!

Our 30º weather will probably last a grand total of 17.32 minutes.

But.. You are correct, most people need to be concerned.

Done here. I drained my water heater and blew out my lines a week or so ago and then pumped in antifreeze yesterday and poured some down the drains. Blowing lines should be sufficient, but considering how cold it's been getting here in IL during the winter I didn't want to risk water collecting somewhere and then freezing and breaking anything. Got down to 19F last night, supposed to get down to 12F with highs in the 20s early next week.

GO HOME, MOTHER NATURE, YOU'RE DRUNK.

I'll be in Florida by the end of the weekend. But still panhandle for a week so I'll have the chance of cold.

My wife and I flew to Orlando back in February 1987 for our company convention. Arrived in town and temp was in 40's. Cab driver, who was from a foreign country with lots of sand and warm temps appeared to be wearing most of the clothes he owned and was saying "It's gonna to snow tonight".

Wife was amused how the people there were so unaccustomed to cold (She was born/raised in LaCrosse, WI.

In my neck of the woods putting off winterization is an invitation for a disaster. Even though our 24 hour temps have been high 30's, low 40's, you never know when a cold front will move in. It is not beyond the realm of possibility to have temps at 39 when you go to bed only to wake up with 6" of snow and the temp at 0.

This might be hijacking this thread, but are there any southern folk who DO NOT winterize? We are debating.

Richmond ain't Deep South so after our last camping trip last weekend I drained and blew out the lines before taking the camper back to the yard. 20 minute job.

Will cover it just before Thanksgiving after resealing the roof.

Yeah, Orlando gets a snow every few years.

But, I'll admit- after wintering in Florida for the past handful of years, I'm that fool who is breaking gloves out at 60 degrees!

College in Appleton (WI) and our freshman dorm was circa 1919 with hot water/steam radiators. Kid from Hawaii moved his bed flush to the radiator and put blankets over both effectively putting the radiator in his bed. Wimp... The occasional -40° (C or F, it's all the same) never hurt anyone.
